Poppenliefde

Fjola is such a patient little girl. She is the sweetest girl ever. She never begged, has never be grumpy and not even be mad at me. I know I would.

Fjola is a little dreamer. She likes to dream about castles with a big garden. A garden with a secret little house. And there will be stables with not just horses, no with unicorns.

In the meantime she has found a little friend I made some time ago. A little bunny of which I wanted to make more but..........you know how it goes.

Fjola put her in her pocket and have never left her out of sight (probably scared I would take her away). But I would never do that...never.

Maybe you can learn her how to play the piano. I haven't had enough time to learn her everything.
But she can play a little song.

For this hand knitted vest I used the free pattern of Nikki van de Car on Ravelry
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/maile-sweater
I really love it.

Fjola is almost 20" tall. Her hair is a weft (that I made) of alpaca locks crocheted into a mohair cap.

Her head has been needle sculpted.
She is made of Swiss jersey and firmly stuffed with lovely soft wool and she has embroidered eyes.

She has a belly button and a little bum.
Important note: please please don't ever tell her I put this on the internet!

She is wearing all the clothes in the photo's above.

With her you also get a little metal box with needle and thread, a piece of tricot and a crayon for those lovely rosy cheeks and a certificate of authenticity.

Fjola is in my Etsy shop now. Her price is € 700,- excl. shipping.
Postage is with € 500 value insurance.

It's friday, it's friday......
It's rainy in Holland and my little girl has an urinary infection. So for me a good reason to find a home for Ljót. My sweet Little Star.

Isn't she a cutie pie?
She is in my Etsy shop right now!

Bloom is such a sweetheart. She helped me hang the new lamp I bought for in the doll room.

Then she asked:
' Can we go to the beach? I have packed everything we need. Please...'

This evening we will know who her new family is. We are sooo nervous!
Will you come?

We hope to see you there!

I have worked on Bloom for a while now and she is now ready to find a loving home.

Bloom will be available in a short auction this Sunday, June 28 from 9:00-10:00 pm EDT
http://indiecart.com/Poppenliefde/mt/37/54209/Bloom-18-OOAK-cloth-doll

She is made of Swiss jersey and filled with lovely soft sheep wool. All seems are sewn twice.
She has a a wig of curly mohair weft crocheted into a mohair cap and she has blue embroidered eyes. She also has a little belly button and a sweet bum.

She is wearing a dress, linen blouse, hand knitted pants, hand knitted socks, leather boots, a handmade hairband, a handmade bracelet and a knitted scarf.

Bloom is a little forest girl. She loves to walk in the woods, lay in the fields and pick some flowers along her walks. She has a special flowerpocket on her dress. Her she can put all her freshly picked flowers (and magnifying glass).

I do hope I can take Bloom for a little walk before she leaves. The weather isn't that great now in Holland and I don't want her to get wet or muddy (although she doesn't mind at all).

I hope to see you all on Sunday!

Susan contacted me about a girl, Tabitha. A doll I made a few years ago. And what I didn't know is that she adopted a lot more girls. It was so wonderful to see all the girls together and to see that they are so loved. Susan wanted Tabitha to have other hair and a new outfit. The sweet girl had a big stain on one leg and Susan asked me if I could do something about it.

And there it was the package with of course Tabitha. It was so good to see her again. And there was more, oh yes much more. Lovely fabrics, wool, ceramic buttons, a shell from the beach where she lives and a sweet little heart. I will cherish them forever. Tabitha is in Holland for a few weeks now and I think she is now all set to go home. Including a whole new set for her sister Bo.
And I think the girls will be very happy because they can wear both outfits! I'm certain they will switch outfits once in a while.

Little Bree is now available in my Indiecart store http://indiecart.com/stores/Poppenliefde/

Come quick, Bree shouts. Quick, quick, quick! A spaceship landed in our house.

I ran upstairs and saw little Bree looking into a spaceship.

You see, you see I'm telling the truth. It's a real spaceship, but it's empty. oh no now there are aliens in the house.
Do you think I fit in there to take a closer look?

It fits, Bree shouted.
I knew it!

(we still haven't found the little aliens yet)

It's official! Yes I feel the summer and not just me!

Today is the day that the list is open for little Maisie at 2 PM New York time.
http://hyenacart.com/LoveforAlex/st/7934/53606/OOAK-9-cloth-doll-Maisie-by-Poppenliefde
All the proceeds are for Alex and her girls! Please take a look here http://hyenacart.com/stores/LoveforAlex/
Here you can find Alexandra's story and a lot more cuteness!

In the meantime I'm trying to keep little Maisie with me. She is desperately searching for the beach. A little swimsuit will join her. Not this one. Because I made the pattern and swimsuit in 15 minutes, because she was going to walk outside naked. Yep that's Maisie!

I haven't told her that this is the garden and that she can't find the beach here. There is a beach nearby, but I'm afraid that when I tell her she will be gone before I know it. And she has to cross some busy roads. No no no the garden is good.......for now.

She did some climbing and finally found a spot to lay down to listen to the beautiful songs of the birds. And getting energy from the warm sun.

Please consider bringing little Maisie home for this great cause!

Much love Maureen

English: I made this video a while ago, but I never shared it on my blog. This little doll has a wig of curly mohair. After a while the hair will look like a mess, but with a few simple steps it will look like new again.
Note: I made this little movie with my Iphone laying on a doll bed above it. So my apologies for the bad quality.

I'm so busy working to get these three girls ready to find a home this week. So there is no time for me to clean also. I asked the girls to help and they didn't immediately helped me. I got a lot of excuses.

The girls: "no we can't clean. What about our clothes? We need to stay clean and our hair has to stay   beautiful. It will all be a mess when we help you clean".

Me: "girls.......really? Lilja it's just soap you will even smell more lovely.
And Abby you don't even get wet. You just need to wipe the fabrics and all from the ground.
And Annikki, I have an apron somewhere. I know it doesn't fit your lovely white dress, but it will be protected. So no more excuses.

They really helped me. So it was about time to reward them with a drink and a piece of gingerbread. Yumyum!

I will have more info about the girls later this week. So stay tuned!

It has been to long since I wrote to you. But we had an emotional time. My father in law died on Boxing day. A few weeks before and the time after has been a roller coaster. At this moment we are working hard to get his home empty. Which is very difficult for my husband. He has no time to get through all his fathers personal stuff.

My dolls are a good medicine and get away. Everything is taking longer now, but I hope you all will understand.
I do cleaned and reorganized my sewing/workroom. I needed the rest around me. And it feels good to be there. I'm working on some girls when I have the time. I hope to have them available soon.

Little star Lykke
I'm still working on Abby (also an 18" doll)
I hope I can offer you these girls very soon.

Have a wonderful weekend!
